Made by Rae designs sewing patterns that allow you to connect with your creativity by sewing clothing that is both beautiful and practical.
She started her sewing blog, Made by Rae, in 2007, after quitting her job as a high school physics teacher to be home with my her first child, Elliot. She'd been sewing for as long as she could remember -- her mum taught her when she was little -- but when she started her blog, the internet was connecting creative people in a completely new way, giving them a place to share projects and connect with each other online. Her readers were interested in the designs she was posting on her blog, so she started selling digital sewing patterns shortly after her daughter Clementine was born in 2009.
Now, over a decade after starting her blog, she designs sewing patterns for women and children along with her team at Made by Rae. She is also a fabric designer for Cloud9 Fabrics, an online sewing instructor for Creativebug, and teaches the occasional local sewing workshop and hosts sewing nights at her studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the US.
