A little about me...

My name is Tessa and I own Sew Far Sew Good.

In 2014 when on a trip to Hobart with a friend I confessed my plans for wanting to start sewing lessons. My passion and skills grew and in 2017 I decided to start an online sewing business. And then promptly became pregnant. Everything got put on pause while I figured out life with a baby! The drive to create my own sewing business returned and in 2019 I launched Sew Far Sew Good. And then the world promptly got hit with Covid. At the end of 2020 I decided to relocate from Melbourne back to my hometown of Adelaide. And promptly got separated. And that pretty much brings us up to date...

For me, sewing has a magical way of slowing down time and creating flow in my life. It is a way to express my creativity and create clothes that fit my unique body shape. Sewing gives me the wonderful satisfaction of creating something with my own hands.

We all know the significant impact that textile waste has on our planet and the people living on it. I believe in everyone doing something (no matter how small) not some people doing everything that makes a difference. Sew Far Sew Good is my way of helping to educate people about the benefits of sewing and also reducing the amount of textiles heading for landfill.

My vision is simple; to share my passion for sewing by curating a selection of independently designed patterns and recycled fabric to help you sew your own wardrobe more sustainably. Feeling good while doing good.
